Questions About Installation |
How can we avoid the users from noticing Fort installation? |
1.If you would like to use remote Silent install/uninstall mode, please go to 【System Management/System】 and uncheck【Remote Installation/display message at the client during the uninstallation】. Therefore, when you are installing, uninstalling, and updating the client computers remotely, messages like 【Fort installation/uninstallation/update version】will not appear at the client computers. You can refer to FAQ (02-01-01-01) or Fort Installation Manual for further information. NT operating system or above can use remote installation. Other operating systems can use Logon Script for automatic installation. (In order to use Silent mode deployment, one should add in parameters.)
2.In the control permission of the users, please do not select【display Fort icon】. |

Security |
What will happen to Fort system when the network of the company is disconnected? |
Once the network of the company is disconnected, X-FORT system will automatically convert to off-line mode. All security mechanisms will still work. However, it cannot run the following functions temporarily:
- The cipher text that was copied from the external device before the disconnection can only be decrypted after connecting back. This is because after installing Fort system, the external storage device is a temporary tool for transferring files. Therefore, its traffic network flow will not be overloaded.
- Due to the disconnection, X-Monitor cannot monitor the screens of some clients.
- X-FORTserver will not be able to notify instantly the client once it detects a new policy setting. Once the client reconnects, it will acquire automatically the new policy setting.
- Due to the disconnection, X-DISK will be in rescue mode while it is mounting.

| Does Fort system provide any protection for My Network Places? What are the features?? |
If the operating system of the client computer which has installed Fort is Windows NT or higher, the computers that have not installed Fort will not be able to view and acquire the sharing files.
