Does the client-end need to install any program in order to be monitored? |
1.In order to simplify the configuration and usage, the user can install X-GATE Login program.
2.If X-GATE Login program is not installed yet, a screen requesting for authentication will appear when the user opens a webpage (it is necessary to configure to Gateway mode or assign a Proxy server).
3.The authentication screen provides a download area to install X-GATE Login program.
4.If you permit to usage of Skype, in order to control it, you must install X-GATE Login program. |

Yes, it can. X-GATE has many statistics and search functions. In order to know whether the traffic flow is reasonable, you can use the ranking table to find the users or websites with the highest traffic flow. |

How can we view the chat history of MSN Messenger? When there are a lot of chat messages transferring simultaneously, will the history be complicated? |
You can use the management program to view it. The chat history is recorded according to the number of people who are chatting. For example, if there are three people chatting simultaneously, the content will saved in three different data. |
How do you configure the contacts which the general users are allowed to chat with? |
In X-GATE management program, please add the contacts to the external accounts list. |
Can X-GATE control the usage of Web Messenger? |
Under WEB control, you can use the import file provided by FineArt (Web MSN website), which permission should be configured as prohibit connection. |
Can X-GATE control the usage of Windows Live Messenger？ |
Yes, it can. X-GATE 1.5 can control MSN 7.0/7.5 and Windows Live Messenger. |

1.For the database, you can use the backup mechanism originally provided by MS-SQL.
